HOUSING NEW MEXICO (MFA)

New Mexico Mortgage Finance Authority (MFA) has approved their Housing Innovation award made through the New Mexico Housing Trust Fund to ECOHAB for $450,000 to build four passive solar homes in El Prado, NM to be sold at or below 150% Area Median Income (AMI). Through our Taos Affordable Homeownership Pilot Project, each home will sell below market value to qualified low/moderate-income, first-time buyers, with priority for long-term Taos County residents.

THE LUZZATTO COMPANY

Known for innovative real estate investing, The Luzzatto Company has donated an office space to ECOHAB located in the heart of Taos, NM. This is a big step for our team. This office offers a neutral ground for ECOHAB business. It is also an opportunity to display information in office window for locals and tourists explaining who we are and what we do so folks walking by can learn more.

TAOS HOUSING PARTNERSHIP

Taos Housing Partnership (THP) is a nonprofit organization committed to taking meaningful action to develop housing in and around Taos. Its board is comprised of community leaders from public and private sectors who are dedicated to solving Taos’ housing challenges. THP’s mission is to create equitable housing opportunities for our community while preserving our culture, promoting financial literacy, and protecting our environment.

THP will be participating in ECOHAB’s Taos Affordable Homeownership Pilot Project by offering assistance in the buyer qualification and mortgage processes.

LONG WAY HOME

“We work hand-in-hand with local communities to create educational infrastructure using recycled materials, particularly used tires, that would otherwise pollute the environment. Our approach combines environmental stewardship with educational excellence, creating spaces where learning thrives and communities flourish. Every project we undertake is guided by the principle that education is a fundamental right, and that sustainable practices can create lasting positive change for both people and the planet.”

ECOHAB has partnered with Long Way Home to build a classroom in Aguas Calientes, Guatemala (April 2024) and in Patzaj, Guatemala (October 2025) to address severe shortages of educational infrastructure in the villages outside of San Juan Comalapa.
